Which dryers do the rules cover?
From 19 January 2027, household tumble dryers placed on the market or put into service in Great Britain must meet stricter energy-efficiency requirements.
The changes phase out inefficient household vented and conventional condenser technologies. They do not mean every commercial vented or condenser dryer is banned: dryers covered by the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 are excluded.
