Answers to questions about this product...
This thermostat is intended for the Comel SNAIL table specified in the product title. It is a replacement component rather than a complete ironing table, steam boiler or iron. Before ordering, compare the existing part and the exact machine identification details with your equipment to help avoid ordering a thermostat for a different Comel configuration.
Confirm the model of the table first, then check the markings, terminals and physical layout of the thermostat already fitted. A thermostat may look similar to another part while having different temperature settings or electrical connections. If the original component is unavailable or unreadable, obtain advice using photographs and the machine’s serial or identification information.
Replacement may be considered when the table does not maintain its selected temperature, overheats, remains cold, or shows intermittent heating behaviour after appropriate fault diagnosis. These symptoms can also be caused by wiring, heating elements or other electrical faults, so the thermostat should not be assumed to be the cause without inspection by a suitably qualified technician.
Professional fitting is recommended because a thermostat is an electrical control component within commercial ironing equipment. The engineer should isolate the machine, verify the wiring arrangement, fit the part correctly and test temperature control before returning the table to service. This reduces the risk of incorrect connections, unsafe operation and damage to associated heating components.
After installation, the table should be tested to confirm that it heats, regulates temperature and switches safely at the intended setting. Check that terminals are secure, cables are undamaged and the surface does not continue heating excessively. Any abnormal smell, tripping, unstable temperature or failure to heat should be investigated before the equipment is used for commercial ironing work.
