Frequency Asked Questions (FAQs)
Answers to questions about this product...
It is designed for the Magpie 5-litre British Ironing Boiler and Iron system. The iron is supplied with the standard Speedypress 4-pin plug, plus its steam hose and electric cable, for a direct replacement connection. If you are unsure which boiler version you own, check the existing connection or contact the supplier before ordering.
No, this is a steam-delivery iron and cannot produce steam independently. It must be connected to a Magpie 5-litre boiler, or a confirmed compatible steam boiler, which supplies the steam needed for ironing. The boiler is sold separately, so this item is not suitable as a standalone domestic or commercial iron.
The package includes the industrial steam iron, a heavy-duty double-insulated silicone steam hose, a heat-resistant electric cable and a standard Speedypress 4-pin plug. This provides the main connected components needed to replace an existing compatible Magpie iron without separately sourcing the hose, cable or plug.
Yes, it is built for heavy-duty industrial use and is intended for operations such as commercial laundries, ironing services, hotels and care homes using Magpie equipment. Its approximately 2.2 kg weight is designed to balance comfortable handling with effective pressing, helping operators tackle stubborn creases during regular professional ironing work.
The supplied double-insulated silicone steam hose is intended for the temperatures and pressures associated with a professional steam boiler. Its insulated construction helps make the hose safer to handle during operation, while the heat-resistant electric cable is specified for commercial boiler environments. These components are important when replacing an iron used throughout busy working days.
