Which irons and soleplate types can be used with this mat?

It is intended for Snail 2 and 3 litre irons and is also described as compatible with all iron types and most soleplates. This makes it a practical resting surface for many commercial ironing stations, although buyers should compare their iron’s footprint with the available resting area before ordering.

What is the benefit of using a heat-resistant resting surface?

The heat-resistant silicone material provides a designated place to rest a hot iron between passes. In an ironing service, tailoring workshop or laundry finishing area, this can help keep the working surface organised and avoid placing a hot soleplate directly onto an unsuitable countertop or ironing board cover.

Is this a suitable accessory for a busy commercial ironing station?

This accessory is suitable where operators need a simple, dedicated place to set down an iron during repeated garment-finishing tasks. It does not increase steam output or replace an ironing board, boiler or iron; its role is to support safer, more orderly day-to-day handling of hot irons.

Where should the mat be positioned during use?

Place it on a stable, level surface close enough for the operator to rest the iron without stretching across the workstation. Ensure the mat sits flat and is not positioned where it could be knocked, folded over an edge or exposed to conditions beyond its intended use as a heat-resistant iron rest.

How should a silicone iron rest be cleaned and looked after?

Allow the mat and iron to cool before cleaning. Wipe the silicone surface with a soft cloth to remove dust or residue, then dry it before reuse. Regularly check that it remains flat, clean and free from damage, as a stable contact surface is important when resting a hot iron.
