Frequency Asked Questions (FAQs)
Answers to questions about this product...
This cleaner is suited to businesses that use irons regularly, including ironing services, dry cleaners, tailoring workshops, hotels and costume departments. It is designed to remove deposits from hot metal ironing surfaces, helping maintain a smoother soleplate. This is particularly useful where starch or garment finishes can build up and affect the quality of pressing.
Ez-Off Iron Cleaner is formulated to tackle stubborn starch build-up, soil, burnt-on residue, dirt and foreign deposits on hot metal ironing surfaces. Removing these contaminants can reduce drag as the iron moves across fabric. It is intended for cleaning the soleplate rather than addressing internal faults, steam-system blockages or mechanical issues with the iron.
Apply a small amount of cleaner to a heavy cotton cloth, then rub the iron soleplate while the iron is hot, following the product instructions. Using a suitable cloth helps lift residue from the metal surface without applying the product directly to garments. Staff should follow the supplied directions and normal hot-iron handling procedures during use.
Clean the soleplate when it develops visible residue, feels less smooth over fabric or begins picking up starch and burnt-on deposits. The required frequency will depend on ironing volume, fabric finishes and starch use. Regular cleaning before deposits become heavily baked on can help maintain consistent glide and reduce the risk of residue transferring during finishing work.
The cleaner is supplied in a 5.25 oz tube and is used in small amounts on a heavy cotton cloth. Buyers should consider the number of irons in service, how frequently starch or other residues are encountered, and whether spare tubes are needed for routine maintenance. The non-flammable formula is stated as safe for iron, fabric and skin when used as directed.
