This replacement cap is listed for Snail 2-litre, 3-litre and 5-litre ironing boilers, including the 5-litre semi-automatic version, plus the Speedy Twin boiler with two irons. Check your boiler’s model and cap fitting before ordering, particularly if you have a different Speedy, Snail or Pratika configuration.
Check that the existing filler opening uses a 3/4-inch fitting before purchasing. Comparing the thread size and the overall cap design with the part currently fitted helps avoid ordering an incompatible boiler filler cap. If the old cap is unavailable, refer to the boiler documentation or confirm the model details with the supplier.
The cap uses a medicine-bottle-style safety design: it must be pushed down while being turned to unscrew it. This helps reduce the chance of accidental opening during normal handling. Operators should still follow the boiler manufacturer’s safety procedure and allow the unit to cool and depressurise before removing a filler cap.
It is a replacement filler cap intended for compatible commercial ironing boilers, but the boiler must be switched off, cool and free from pressure before any cap is removed or fitted. Screw the new cap on carefully without forcing the thread. If the thread is damaged or the boiler is leaking, seek qualified advice before use.
Replace the cap if the safety mechanism no longer operates correctly, the threads are worn, the cap is cracked, or it cannot be secured properly. A sound filler cap is important for safe boiler operation. Do not continue using an ironing boiler with a cap that is loose, damaged or difficult to lock into place.
