Yes. It is intended for light to medium commercial use, with an all-metal build and a 2.5-litre stainless steel pressure boiler providing up to 75 minutes of continuous steam. It suits hotels, dry cleaners, bridal boutiques, fashion retailers and costume departments that need dependable finishing between refills, rather than uninterrupted back-to-back steaming for very long shifts.
The steamer is suitable for garments and furnishing fabrics that benefit from crease relaxation without direct soleplate contact, including silk, wool, velvet, synthetics and blends. It can be used on hanging clothing, dresses, suits, curtains, upholstery and display textiles. As with any steam process, staff should follow the fabric-care label and test an inconspicuous area on sensitive materials.
The unit has its own 1.5kW stainless steel boiler and uses standard tap water, so no external steam supply is required. It has a three-metre power cable, a 164cm hose as standard and a collapsible support rod reaching 142cm. Check that the intended electrical supply is suitable for a 1.5kW appliance and position it where staff can move safely around hanging garments.
From a partial fill, the boiler heats up in approximately four minutes; from a full fill, allow around four to ten minutes. Six heavy-duty double-bearing castors, a carry handle and collapsible nozzle support rod help staff move it between garment rails, hotel rooms, fitting areas or curtain installations. This supports on-site finishing without requiring an ironing board.
As a boiler-based garment steamer, it should be kept clean and checked regularly for scale build-up, particularly in hard-water areas. Follow the operating instructions for emptying, cleaning and any descaling routine, rather than allowing mineral deposits to accumulate. The Handy Maid includes a run-dry safety cut-out and low/empty-water warning buzzer, while its three-year warranty and lifetime boiler warranty provide added ownership reassurance.
